What the extra fifty thousand actually buys
Doubling the budget does not double every part. Three of them take almost all of the difference.
A full tier up, which is the whole reason to spend the money
The jump from our ₹50,000 machine to this one is, more than anything else, a graphics card two classes higher. That is what moves the comfortable resolution from 1080p to 1440p rather than simply raising the frame rate at the resolution you already had.
It is also where the extra memory on the card starts to matter. At 1440p with high textures, a card that has run out of its own memory stutters in a way that no processor or drive can rescue — and it is the failure people mistake for "the game is badly optimised".
At this budget you are buying a resolution, not a frame rate.
Now the processor has to keep up
At ₹50,000 the graphics card is the limit in almost everything, so a modest processor costs you nothing. Put a card two tiers higher behind that same processor and the machine starts waiting on the wrong part — particularly in simulation and strategy titles, and in anything with a large open world.
So this build spends real money on the processor for the first time. Not the most expensive chip available, but one with the cores and the cache to keep a card of this class fed at the resolution it was bought for.
A fast card behind a slow processor is a machine that stutters in exactly the games that make you want a fast card.
Capacity stops being optional here
A terabyte sounds generous until three current titles and their updates are installed. At this budget the machine is going to be used for several years, and running out of space is the most common reason a perfectly good PC starts feeling slow — because what people do next is move things onto a mechanical drive.
We specify a drive that leaves genuine room, on a board with a second slot free, so the answer in two years is adding storage rather than replacing it.
The upgrade you will actually want first is space, not speed.
What this machine will and will not do
At 1440p it will run current titles at high settings at a frame rate that suits a 144Hz monitor in most things, and comfortably above that in competitive titles. This is the resolution to buy a monitor for if you are buying this machine.
At 4K it will run, at reduced settings, in many titles. We would not specify it for 4K gaming, and a machine that genuinely is specified for that costs meaningfully more than this one.
Unlike our entry build, this one is a credible machine for video editing and light 3D work — the memory and the card are both in the range where those applications stop struggling. For colour-critical or heavy rendering work, the builder has a workstation mode that specifies differently.

Is ₹1,00,000 enough for a 1440p gaming PC in 2026?
Yes, and comfortably. This is the budget where 1440p at high settings stops requiring compromises. Below roughly ₹80,000 you are buying a 1080p machine that can be pushed to 1440p; at a lakh you are buying a 1440p machine.
What is the difference between the ₹50,000 and ₹1,00,000 builds?
Mostly the graphics card — two classes higher — and a processor able to keep up with it. Memory and storage both go up as well. What does not change much is the cabinet and the power supply, which were chosen with headroom in the first place.
Will this handle 4K gaming?
At reduced settings in many titles, yes. We would not specify it for 4K, and we would rather tell you that here than after the invoice. A machine genuinely built for 4K costs meaningfully more.
Can I use this for video editing?
Yes — at this budget the memory and the graphics card are both in the range where editing software stops struggling.
